A structured monthly pottery program where children explore clay through hand building and gradually develop their skills on the pottery wheel.
The Mann Mozhi Kids Pottery Program is designed as a progressive 8-level pottery journey, allowing children to build their skills, confidence and creative expression over time. Each level introduces new techniques and challenges while continuing to strengthen the foundations they have already developed. Children explore both hand building and wheel throwing as they progress through the program.

Learn to build forms directly with clay using pinch, coil, and slab techniques.
Gradually learn the fundamentals of pottery on the spinning wheel with gentle guidance.
Explore marks, textures, leaf imprints, and rich tactile ceramic surfaces.
Understand shape, balance, volume, and proportion as objects rise in 3D.
Experience the complete process of turning raw clay into a durable ceramic piece.
Develop creative confidence and patience through mindful experimentation.
Children progress thoughtfully at their own natural pace. Each level reinforces earlier tactile muscle memory while introducing exciting new ceramic techniques.
Tactile familiarity, learning clay moisture, forming basic pinch vessels and character cups.
Rolling even coils, scoring and slipping, and building upward organic vessels with structural balance.
Using wooden guide rails, rolling uniform slabs, and assembling angular geometric forms and trays.
Carving, stamping, carving lines, and creating expressive surface stories on leather-hard clay.
Wheel posture, foot-pedal speed control, centering the clay lump, and initial conical movements.
Opening the clay base, feeling wall thickness, and pulling clean vertical cylinders and bowls.
Securing leather-hard pieces on the wheel, trimming foot rings, and pulling graceful functional handles.
Combining hand building and wheel throwing into an independent studio art piece.
New to pottery? That's okay.
No previous pottery experience is required. Children can begin at the appropriate level based on their experience and the Mann Mozhi program structure.
